 Why Easter Matters - The Power of the Cross
Easter is my favorite holiday of the year. For me, it’s a special time to reflect and remember the message of the cross—"foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:18) We have new life when we embrace the work of the cross and believe that Jesus is the risen Lord... Who is Jesus to you?

Eyes wide open or eyes closed? How do you pray? Even more importantly – how do you live? There is a stance, an attitude towards everyday living that can open us up to be vessels of the Lord bringing truth and hope to those around us, and another that closes us in, shuts us – and the Holy Spirit – down, isolating us, closing us off from what God wants to do in the earth.   Be kind. The words are imprinted on T-shirts, bumper stickers—my neighbor even has it on a sign posted in their yard. It’s like a new rule the world has imposed on us, no matter the situation, no matter the person, no matter whether they have a sense of morality or violently oppose yours.
