Winds blow. Storms come. Are you swayed by “winds of doctrine”? Affected by the news of another scandal in the pulpit? Are you moved by the encroaching agendas of darkness? Cling to the Rock... “When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.” Psalm 61:2
It’s a crazy world out there. Sometimes it’s hard to know what to trust or who to trust. Cling to the Rock. Seasons come and go. Even time changes as we shift to daylight savings time or travel across time zones. Are you wobbling? Struggling to maintain your balance? Cling to the Rock. Life changes. People move on. Loved ones may pass. The rhythm of our lives must compensate for loss or grief. Cling to the Rock. And then there’s the flip side. The times when things don’t move as we hoped or go as we planned. The relationship that never developed, the job opening that never came through. In those moments we must ask ourselves: Am I clinging to the Rock or clinging to my idea of what life should look like? “You are good, and do good...” Psalm 119:68 You can trust God. You can believe for good things even when life looks bleak and stormy. He is good and He does good. May God give us all a renewed grace to weather life – our arms wrapped around Him, our hearts trusting in Him. Unswayed and unmoved by the storms that swirl around us. Cling to the Rock. He is your strong tower. He is your shelter in the midst of every storm. “From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy.” Psalm 61:2-3
