Have you lost your way in this thing called life? God has a purpose for you, and it begins with vision. “Where there is no vision, the people perish...” Proverbs 29:18 KJV Without vision, the Bible tells us that people perish. Without revelation of who they are and what they’ve been called to, people cast off restraint, reject divine guidance – live their lives as though there’s no God, no Lord, no Savior... We see it in workplaces when the employer fails to cast vision for the work and employees become disgruntled or quit. We see it in marriages, when husbands and wives become disillusioned with their relationship. They lose focus of why they said, “I do” and their hearts and eyes begin to wander.
It can happen in the home, when a young mother or father feels overwhelmed with mounds of laundry or diapers and feedings – if they’re unable to see through “the tunnel” to the future. Without vision, we perish. Maybe not physically, though we’ve seen that happen, but it can be a slow dying of our light, our zeal, our hope. Worded another way – without hope – hope in our God, hope in a future – we perish in doubt, unbelief and discouragement. But God. God has called us on mission. He has anointed and appointed you to make a difference in the earth – in the lives of the people around you. The child you hold in your arms, the coworker beside you, an aging parent or a neighborhood kid. “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:20 NIV God has placed people in your life and within your reach. People who need a healing touch, a compassionate hand, a word of wisdom, a silent friend. This is my call to you to live a life on mission. On mission for the King, on purpose for our Lord Jesus Christ. Find Your One “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin...” Zechariah 4:10 NLT It’s okay to start small. Don’t discredit the day of small beginnings. It’s okay to start slowly, incremental ways of living with others in mind... with God and his mandate in mind. As you are faithful to your God-given mission, your circle of influence will slowly grow: an ever widening circle of people coming alive to God as he lives in you and reaches through you. Let the Holy Spirit renew your vision today. Live your life on mission. Find your one. Photo by Denys Nevozhai on Unsplash
