100,000 – Why the Number Matters

100,000 people. It’s the approximate population of Burbank, California; Libertad, Argentina; and Lida in Belarus.

And it also represents the number of people from around the world who have subscribed to my devotional plans carried on the YouVersion Bible app. Men and women, families and teens, business professionals and single moms and dads are growing closer to God as they work through my various devotionals on their phones or computers.

For those that know me well – or are just getting to know me – this is the cry of my heart, the passion that has guided me and my husband for many, many years. To touch the nations, to help people around the world encounter and experience the powerful presence of the living God. To know Him even as they are known.

God has called each one of us to make a difference in this world, and it begins with one life influencing another to live for God. The cup of coffee you share with a neighbor. The kind words you speak to a grocery clerk. Every drop of “rain” counts towards the bigger goal of the earth being covered by the glory of God “as the waters cover the sea.” (Habakkuk 2:14)
