Why Easter Matters - The Power of the Cross
Easter is my favorite holiday of the year. For me, it’s a special time to reflect and remember the message of the cross—"foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:18) We have new life when we embrace the work of the cross and believe that Jesus is the risen Lord... Who is Jesus to you?

Eyes wide open or eyes closed? How do you pray? Even more importantly – how do you live?
There is a stance, an attitude towards everyday living that can open us up to be vessels of the Lord bringing truth and hope to those around us, and another that closes us in, shuts us – and the Holy Spirit – down, isolating us, closing us off from what God wants to do in the earth. Be kind. The words are imprinted on T-shirts, bumper stickers—my neighbor even has it on a sign posted in their yard. It’s like a new rule the world has imposed on us, no matter the situation, no matter the person, no matter whether they have a sense of morality or violently oppose yours.
Does anyone else wrestle with being kind? Are you suffering? It’s easy to praise God when the bills are all paid, the baby’s asleep, the kids are alright. But what about when life turns south? Many of us struggle theologically with “Why does God allow suffering” when we’ve tried to live right, do right, be right...
You don’t have to look far in our society to find someone who has suffered at the hands of wickedness. Prejudice, discrimination, verbal or physical abuse or molestation can lead to feelings of shame – even when you’re not at fault...
Are you anxious? Is it hard to find peace? I had a revelation in church this weekend and it may be exactly what you need to regain a sense of balance in your soul...
Have you lost your way in this thing called life? God has a purpose for you, and it begins with vision.
“Where there is no vision, the people perish...” Proverbs 29:18 KJV Without vision, the Bible tells us that people perish. Without revelation of who they are and what they’ve been called to, people cast off restraint, reject divine guidance – live their lives as though there’s no God, no Lord, no Savior... The end of the year is quickly approaching. I wonder—how has your 2024 been so far? Have you accomplished all your plans? Have you experienced all you hoped to? It’s not too late to evaluate and adjust. Read this...
Before you read this, note that this is not a political piece but a spiritual one and an invitation to God’s people to stand in the gap as we near election day.
How do you approach politics and the upcoming elections? Some people adamantly voice their opinions, others are silent on matters and still others don’t even plan to go to the polls, feeling that their vote doesn’t matter... |
Laura WoodworthWhat’s your dream? I pray you will be inspired and encouraged to pursue all God has for you. Now, more than ever, we need people of faith to go, do and become the light for the world. Categories
