What do you see when you look at the nativity? A tiny baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, vulnerable and weak? In a society where injustices abound and the long-held values of the Bible are in question, perhaps you should take another look... “You have taught children and infants to tell of your strength, silencing your enemies and all who oppose you.” Psalm 8:2 NLT
Can you imagine the infant in Mary’s arms as a spiritual force of victory? A secret weapon sent to silence the enemies of God. What enemy do you need silencing? What bully intimidates your life, pushing you back and calling you names? The enemy could be within. It could be without. None of us walk through life without encountering the enemy of our soul in one form or another. (Psalm 143:12) Your enemy could be a very real person who is a tool of the enemy working against you and against God’s purposes on earth. A thief, a liar, a vandal who steals and destroys – a henchman of the devil whose soul has been deceived. Your enemy could be chronic illness or cancer. Again, not God’s will for your life and something to be battled as you fight the fight of faith and believe for your healing. Or is your enemy within? Voices in your head that bully and tear you down. Enemy voices whispering to your soul, creating insecurity and uncertainty, questioning and doubting every word of God spoken over your life. What’s your enemy? Who or what torments your soul? What’s holding you back from being the person God has called you to be? To live joyously and love fervently, to be a vessel for his goodness to those around you. Where does your battle lie? “This is why the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8 BSB There is a baby in a manger, the Word made flesh. A child birthed in a humble stable, born to silence the enemy and avenger of your soul. Sweet – innocent – pure. Sent from God to wreak havoc on the devil. A Victorious Conqueror come to destroy the works of the evil one. This Child is your salvation from every enemy within and without. Will you receive him? Will you believe him? This child will silence the voices. This baby will save your soul. “‘Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’” Mathew 1:23 “Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war. His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns... On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.” Revelation 19:11-12, 16 #spiritualwarfare #faith #spiritualwarfarescriptures Photo by Phil Hearing on Unsplash
