Desperately Seeking God (What to do if you’re hurting)

“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.” Isaiah 55:6 NIV

Today, if you’re hurting, seek the Lord. If you’re desperate, seek his face. He is near, he is listening. You don’t have to do life alone. You don’t have to suffer in silence.

People talk about their religion or their “spirituality,” but I’ve never considered those terms when it comes to God...
For me, this is relationship. That’s where it started for me when I was 18 and encountered him in a real and life-changing way – and that is where it continues.

It’s a friendship with the living God. A Father-daughter relationship with my Creator. He’s my guiding Shepherd. He’s my protecting Shield. He’s my hope and inspiration.

Without him, I am nothing. With him, I can accomplish great things.

Outside of him, my life is meaningless.

In him, I have purpose, vision, direction. I am an ambassador for Christ, an agent of salvation, his hands and his heart to the world around me. His vessel of prayer to help bring his kingdom and his good will into the earth.

And so are you.

If you are a believer, if you have accepted the forgiveness and saving grace of God available to you through the blood of Jesus Christ, there is a calling on your life. A mantle to carry his truth and love.

Your entrance is through the portal of relationship. Through the assurance of knowing and believing and trusting that God loves you. That his forgiveness is greater than any mistake you could ever make. That redemption and restoration and your reason for living are in his hands and extended to you. It’s there for the “taking” or should I say, the receiving.

Today, if you’re hurting, seek the Lord.

(2 Corinthians 5:20, Psalm 132:16, Joel 2:32, Exodus 33:19, Romans 10:13, Revelation 1:6)
