Do You Need Something to Do?

So often we regard Christianity as a list of don’ts. Don’t gossip, don’t let the sun go down on your anger, don’t frustrate your children... There are all true biblical mandates. They are great guides to living and leading a peaceful life in harmony with God and those around you.
 
But have you ever felt bogged down by the “don’ts”? Or feel like you fail at every turn? If you’re focusing on what not to do that can easily happen...

The apostle Paul offered encouragement for those who were tripped up in their Christian walk by their old nature and the things they were trying to avoid. He saw the problem and gave them something to do.
 
“So I advise you to live according to your new life in the Holy Spirit. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.” Galatians 5:16 NLT
 
Now you have something to do! Live according to the new life you’ve been given, guided and inspired by the Holy Spirit. It’s a whole new perspective to consider when you wake every day. 
 
What can I do today in this new life in Christ? How can I bless someone? How can I honor the Lord? How can I lead the way of faith for someone else? 
 
How can I use the freedom I have in him to really, truly live?
 
May God help you do great things in him today.
