Years later, I wonder if the disciples in the boat recalled this psalm when Jesus rebuked the wind and waves that threatened to overtake them.
“‘Who is this?’ They asked themselves...” Matthew 8:26-27 This is Christ Jesus – the Lord of heaven and earth. The One who can still your storm, quiet your troubles, calm your soul. Whatever insurmountable thing you are facing today, have faith. Look to Jesus and cry out, “Lord, help.” “‘Lord, help!’ they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He led them straight to safety, to a city where they could live... ‘Lord, help!’ they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom; he snapped their chains... ‘Lord, help!’ they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He spoke and they were healed – snatched from the door of death.... ‘Lord, help!’ they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves. What a blessing was that stillness as he brought them safely into harbor. Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for all his wonderful deeds to them.” Psalm 107:6-7, 13-14, 19-20, 28-31 Photo by Khamkéo Vilaysing on Unsplash
