Stores do it often to stay open and do business. Taking inventory of what’s on the shelf and what needs to be replenished. Restocking, facing off the shelves, giving everything a fresh look. The year is quickly slipping away. Spring into summer, and now the trees show a hint of fall, tinges of color brushing their leaf tips. It can be easy to lose the year's momentum and settle into a “what will be will be” mentality, but if you do the math, we’re only in the eighth month... There are four more months to this year! One-third of the year. One hundred forty-three days to be exact.
The year is not a wash. You have 143 days to make your mark on 2022, to achieve the dreams or goals you jotted in your journal on January 1. One hundred forty-three days to recount the Lord’s goodness. Has he saved you? Redeemed you? Carried you thus far? Take inventory. Recount the blessings and then replenish what’s low. Ask the Lord to come once again and refresh, restock, and make all things new. Rejoice in where you are right now – and then press on! Lay hold of what’s next! Commit the rest of this year into God’s hands and believe in his power to guide and provide. Look to the One who can make this year shine. If you need healing – “Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.” Jeremiah 17:14 NIV If you need forgiveness – “Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.” Psalm 103:2-3 NLT If you need a miracle – “Your ways, God, are holy. What god is as great as our God? You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.” Psalm 77:13-14 NIV If you need strength – “May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in ever good deed and word.” 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 NIV Keep hoping, keep believing, keep pressing into this year with faith for good things. Look for the harvest of seeds you have sown. “The hopes of the godly result in happiness...” Proverbs 10:28 What are you still believing for in 2022? Healing? Recovery? Miracles? Comment below.
